We’re Hiring – Development Manager

HOPE Helps, a local non-profit with a mission to prevent homelessness and keep families in their homes, is looking for a talented individual who is compassionate, resourceful, and organized to join our team. The ideal
candidate will be self-motivated, committed to the organization’s mission and values, while consistently functioning as a highly dedicated team player, as well as an effective fundraiser for the organization. This
candidate is responsible for the organization’s development/sponsorship plan. The candidate will also identify, organize, and manage the fundraising activities to obtain ongoing and increased support from corporations,
public and private organizations, faith communities, and individuals. The position is full-time, Monday-Friday with occasional weekend availability for special events.

Required: Bachelor’s degree or 5 years experience in Fundraising/Donor Relations.

  • Understanding of HOPE’s mission, values, vision and structure.
  • Relationship building, maintaining of existing donors, and responsible for securing new donors to meet goals (Moves Management).
  • Coordination of recognition for monetary and in-kind Donors (thank yous, campaigns, after hours, etc.).
  • Maintain, oversee and track all contacts and connections through Donor database.
  • Develop reports as requested (prospects, new donors, lapsed donors, quarterly donations, monthly giving, sponsorship activities, online transactions, monthly donor retention, moves management updates).
  • Work alongside the CEO with Major Gifts and coordinate recognition with HOPE’s Board of Directors.
  • Develop tier-levelled sponsorship growth strategies for all events and budget to increase corporate giving, individual and major gifts.
  • Recruit donor prospects through weekly tours, four per month (individuals and groups); add to Moves Management with follow up.
  • Review corporate partnerships, cause-marketing trends and identify opportunities to incorporate these trends where appropriate to HOPE.
  • Coordinate and execute annual giving mailings and year-end receiving (alongside CEO/CFO).
  • Manage Vision of HOPE fundraising event by securing location and sponsorships with assistance from Events, Marketing and Volunteer departments, as needed.
  • Available as a lead back up for HOPE events.
  • Serve as HOPE representative and present at networking events where beneficial to HOPE in development/fundraising activities. Report results on new connections in development meetings and share contacts to Admin Assistant.
  • Manages entries and organizes pledges of ongoing support from individuals, corporations and foundations.
  • Identify story ideas, write and proof content as it pertains to Development/Fundraising (alongside Marketing).
  • Assist CEO with grants, annual fundraising plan and budget.
  • Develop, maintain and increase sponsorship agreements, identify potential revenue streams for all HOPE events, and communicate any sponsorship updates to Events and Marketing Departments (update weekly logistics).
  • Sponsor shout-out scripts for all events.
  • Contribute to social media content and share HOPE content on social media accounts, as needed.
  • Assist in preparing Annual Report with CEO, alongside Director of Finance and Marketing Manager.
  • Liaison to HOPE’s InterFaith Coalition members – maintaining engagement.
