THE RESOURCE CENTER

What We Do:
HOPE serves the working poor, many clients who have never been in crisis before and the homeless. We believe in equipping individuals and families with the tools necessary to get them through their crisis by offering case management, financial literacy, and access to additional resources such as our Choice Food Pantry and Hygiene Closet.
Community support allows us to help those who may not qualify for other assistance programs but who are still in crisis due to job loss or medical issues. HOPE’s prevention model has proven effective in preventing hunger & homelessness due to eviction and foreclosure and providing direct client assistance in an effort to keep families in their homes.
HOPE collaborates with other service agencies, working together through best practices to identify needs and provide guidance. HOPE also assists with applications for food stamps, health care, job searches and educational opportunities in the Education Center. HOPE’s financial literacy program offers one-on-one financial counseling as well as financial literacy courses available to clients and their teenagers.
*Upon approval for financial assistance, financial literacy session attendance is required.

Financial Literacy
HOPE’s Financial Literacy Programs are an essential tool in our mission to guide individuals out of financial difficulties and towards self-sufficiency. These programs combine interactive workshops and personalized mentorship (1:1 Case Management) to teach vital financial skills. Our clients, many of whom are beneficiaries of our pantry and resource center, learn to master budgeting basics, credit management, and other key financial practices.
Courses available at HOPE include:
-Nutritional Education
-Budgeting Workshops
-Planning for the Holidays Workshops
-Credit Counseling Workshops
-Tenants Rights Workshops
Access to many more financial literacy courses available upon request…
Check back because we are adding more educational workshops all the time (See the HOPE Calendar for updates)!
HOPE’s focus is on prevention and promoting accountability so our families are able to take the steps necessary to move on to self-sufficiency. We believe that by doing this we can build stronger and safer communities.
Kids of HOPE Enrichment Program
The Kids of HOPE program alleviates hunger and provides food for disadvantaged children while on school breaks. The Federal Free/Reduced School Lunch Program provides economically challenged children with healthy meals during the school year. Unfortunately, during school breaks, many of these families do not have the means to purchase additional food for their children while they are home from school.
This HOPE program provides registered children with free lunches during the thirteen weeks of school break throughout the calendar year, including fresh fruit and easy-open items for children who may be home alone while their parents work.
When families come to HOPE to pick up their children’s week of food, the parents have the opportunity to meet with a case manager to discuss their personal situation and create a personalized plan to get back on their feet.
HOPE’s Emergency Network Service (HENS)
HENS provides outreach to those who are elderly, disabled, or suffering from medical issues, and are home-bound and unable to access HOPE’s services. Weekly visits are given to those who meet the criteria of the program.
Volunteers and staff deliver personalized groceries to HENS clients based on their dietery restrictions, as well as providing hygiene necessities.
The HOPE Chest Thrift Store (Vouchers)
HOPE Helps offers a Voucher program through our HOPE Chest Thrift Store.
Vouchers are for registered clients who are in need of basic household items and/or clothing. Eligible clients will be able to shop at The HOPE Chest for voucher items at no cost. Please speak to HOPE’s Resource Specialist about receiving a voucher.
HOPE Helps is able to provide assistance with the following items from The HOPE Chest:
- Clothing
- Interview/ Business Attire

The food pantry and food outreach programs are run with the support of many faith groups, schools, businesses, local government, civic groups, and individuals in the community who organize food drives and donate throughout the year.
The pantry is supported by a large team of dedicated volunteers.
We also partner with Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida and TEFAP, The Emergency Food Assistance Program.
