Each year, HOPE staff and hundreds of volunteers host the Back to School Bash for registered clients with the help of local businesses and churches who sponsor the event and host donation boxes. At the Back to School Bash, children are given everything they need to start their first day of school. During this event, children receive backpacks, pencils, pens, glue, notebooks, paper, socks, underwear, jeans, and more. In addition to these items, clients get to enjoy a day of fun with games for the kids, lunch for the whole family, balloon animals, face painting, and access to additional resources.
In 2019, the Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash served over 400 pre-registered children and it would not have been possible without the 450 volunteers who donated their time and talents, the Sponsors who ensured each child received everything they needed, the Interfaith Coalition who helped plan, donate and provide financial assistance, and local community partners who collected school supplies throughout the summer, donated food for families and volunteers and stepped up to make this the most successful Bash yet!
