Back to School Bash

Over the past 15 years, HOPE Helps, our Interfaith Coalition, local businesses and our generous community have provided thousands of underprivileged children with the school supplies they need for a successful school year.

HOPE is now preparing for our 16th Annual Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash event on August 3, 2024 at the First Church of Oviedo and we need your help!

At the Bash, local children in need will pick out a new backpack and then “shop” for a full list of school supplies, socks, underwear and toiletries of their choosing, plus they will receive an eye screening, a free family lunch, and access to local resource agencies! This amazing event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community partners. We hope you will consider one or more of the following ways to get involved and help make a difference in the lives of our children and families in need.

Those in need of assistance, can register for the Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash during pantry hours starting July 2, 2024 at HOPE’s facility.

Registration for new clients – Tuesday July 2, 2024 (Ends July 20th)

Requirements include:

1. Proof of Residence for all adults in the home(any statement that you have received in mail within the last 30 days)

2.Proof of all household income for all adults in the past three months, including Social Security, SSDI/SSI, TANF, Unemployment Insurance, SNAP/Food stamps, Workman’s Comp, child support and/or alimony
3. Picture ID for all adults
4. Birth Certificate for all Children

HOW TO GET INVOLVED!

Sponsor: To ensure the success of our event, we need the support of our business community. Take a look at the attached Sponsorship Opportunities and choose the level that best fits your organization. There will be hundreds of people in attendance, spanning a variety of demographics, including clients, staff and volunteers of all ages, in addition to a variety of pre-event promotions reaching thousands. Host a Collection Box: Host a Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash Collection Box where your customers can donate a variety of school supplies. A marketing kit and fliers will be provided that explain how their donation makes a difference for children in our community. The Box will include suggestions for their donations, such as pencils, erasers, notebooks, etc. Click HERE to confirm interest in hosting a box. For questions, please contact events@hopehelps.org.

Volunteer! There are many ways to get involved, and over 200 volunteers are needed to make this event a success. You’ll be able to sign up as an individual or with your group or business. If you’re interested in volunteering before, or during the day of the event, be on the lookout for signup information coming in June or contact our Volunteer Manager at volunteer@hopehelps.org with questions.

Monetary donations or Gift Cards: We receive a tremendous amount of donations from the community, but every year we fall a little short in some requested items. Monetary and gift card donations (to stores like Target, Walmart, Staples or OfficeMax) will be used to purchase items that we may need to ensure every child has all their supplies. Please mark checks with Back to School Bash and if paying online add a line in the memo that you’d like your donation to be directed to the Back to School Bash.
