Over the past 17 years, HOPE Helps, our Interfaith Coalition, local businesses and our generous community have provided thousands of underprivileged children with the school supplies they need for a successful school year.

HOPE is now preparing for our 18th Annual Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash event on August 1, 2026 and we need your help!

At the Bash, local children in need will pick out their own new backpack and then “shop” with their family for a full list of school supplies, socks, underwear and toiletries of their choosing. Children will also receive free eye and ear screenings courtesy of Lions Club (as well as free prescription glasses if needed), a family lunch, clothing vouchers for our HOPE Chest Thrift Store, and access to local resource agencies!

This amazing event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community partners. We hope you will consider one or more of the following ways to get involved and help make a difference in the lives of our children and families in need.

HOW TO REGISTER (clients):

Those in need of assistance, can register for the Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash during pantry hours starting July 7, 2026 at HOPE’s facility.

Registration for current clients – Tuesday June 23, 2026 (Ends July 18th)

Registration for new clients- Tuesday July 7, 2026 (Ends July 18th)

Requirements include:

1. Proof of Residence for all adults in the home(any statement that you have received in mail within the last 30 days)

2.Proof of all household income for all adults in the past three months, including Social Security, SSDI/SSI, TANF, Unemployment Insurance, SNAP/Food stamps, Workman’s Comp, child support and/or alimony
3. Picture ID for all adults
4. Birth Certificate for all Children

HOW TO GET INVOLVED!

Host or Find a Collection Box: Host a Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash Collection Box where your customers can donate a variety of school supplies. A marketing kit and fliers will be provided that explain how their donation makes a difference for children in our community. The Box will include suggestions for their donations, such as pencils, erasers, notebooks, etc. Find the button below if you or your business are interested in becoming a box host, or if you would like to find a donation box location to drop off school supplies. Volunteer! There are many ways to get involved, and over 200 volunteers are needed to make this event a success. You’ll be able to sign up as an individual or with your group or business. If you’re interested in volunteering before, or during the day of the event, be on the lookout for signup information coming in June or contact our Volunteer Manager at volunteer@hopehelps.org with questions.

Monetary donations or Gift Cards: We receive a tremendous amount of donations from the community, but every year we fall a little short in some requested items. Monetary and gift card donations (to stores like Target, Walmart, Staples or OfficeMax) will be used to purchase items that we may need to ensure every child has all their supplies.
