What The HOPE Chest Does:

The HOPE Chest – Thrift Store/Boutique enables us to meet the needs of the community and pursue our mission of preventing and reducing hunger and homelessness in Central Florida. Our store receives quality donations from the community, from clothing, to housewares, electronics, jewelry, and everything in between. Our customers come to our store to find amazing bargains and in the process, support our mission, as 100% of proceeds from The HOPE Chest enable our operations and programs in HOPE’s Resource Center. More directly, HOPE helps provides registered clients from the Resource Center with necessities from the thrift store to relieve their crisis. We partner with many agencies and faith-based organizations in the Central Florida area who refer their families to us to receive items, such as clothing, shoes, household items, school supplies, furniture, new bedding, infant items, and more. If you would like to donate items, please see below for items that we do and do not accept. To schedule a donation pick-up, please see the guidelines and options for scheduling below. Drop Off Donations
When dropping off donations at The HOPE Chest: Please park by the sign shown above, and ring the door bell at the gate door, a staff member or volunteer will help you unload donations!
Please do not leave donations unattended, especially outside of operation hours, doing so is considered “dumping”.
To Schedule a Pickup:
To schedule a pickup through HOPE Helps please email pickups@hopehelps.org. Please include the list of items along with a photo of each item, and allow 1 to 3 business days for a response.
In order to streamline the scheduling process, please answer the following questions if emailing your request to HOPE:
- Are you within a 10-mile radius of The HOPE Chest?
- Is the donation coming from a smoke-free home?
- Were pets allowed on the furniture?
- Are you located on the ground floor?
Did you know that families who are in need receive vouchers for the store so that they are able to get items such as appliances, clothing, and shoes?
Please keep this in mind when donating your items to The HOPE Chest as we cannot give them anything that is dirty, stained, soiled, ripped, and/or broken, which means we cannot accept any items of this nature.
*At this time, we are not accepting mattresses, crib, bed frames, armoires/China cabinets or entertainment centers.*
Furniture donations are accepted at the discretion of the staff members. Please call ahead to confirm availability and space before dropping off furniture donations.
Pick Up Donations
We will schedule pickups for furniture and appliances within a 10-mile radius of The HOPE Chest. We cannot accept non-working appliances; appliances will be tested before we take them.
