9th Annual Kids of HOPE Back to School Bash
On Saturday, August 5th, more than 350 children received everything they need for a successful school year at the Kids of HOPE 9th Annual Back to School Bash presented by Orlando Health. Children and their families were able to pick out their school supplies, socks & underwear, jeans and hygiene products followed by a day of fun with lunch, face painting, Disney balloon artists, and more!
It all started when 67 area businesses and churches hosted school supply collection boxes and donations from the community started pouring in. Hundreds of volunteers then helped collect, sort, count and display the school supplies so families could get prepared for the upcoming school year. With the help of our sponsors Orlando Health, Citizen’s Bank of Florida, Oviedo Medical Center, Onsite Safety, First American Title, First Baptist Church of Chuluota, St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Vollrath Law, School Board Member Karen Almond, Mathnasium of Tuskawilla, University Behavioral Center and WellCare, the 9th Annual Back to School Bash went off without a hitch!
Hear from the families:
“If it were not for this event, my children would lack school supplies. It is truly appreciated.”
“Oh my goodness, I am very blessed- our whole family is blessed! We are so thankful and grateful for all the school supplies and other items. This will help our family immensely! Everyone has been so nice and helpful! Thank you!”
“The Bash helped my daughter with school supplies and a backpack and made her feel very special.”
“We have experienced several financial setbacks lately and we have been forced to use all available funds for housing, electricity, and transportation, leaving zero funds for any “back-to-school” preparations. Thank you from our family! Praise God for you all!”
“During this time of transition, HOPE has been a great help! We appreciate everything from items for the home to kind words and just a simple smile. Thank you from our family to HOPE Helps!“
