101.1 WJRR’s annual Pay for Play benefiting HOPE was a HUGE success! This all day, on-air fundraiser not only raised more than $10,000, it helped raise awareness of HOPE’s mission with on-air mentions and interviews with HOPE’s CEO, Joan Faulkner. Volunteers helped take phone calls for song requests and prize bids all day long! Listeners could take over the station and request a rock song for $25 or for $30, listeners could request any other genre! Local businesses could sponsor a half hour or hour slot and get on-air mentions and song selections and local artists could even play their own songs on the radio! This event is always a lot of fun and HOPE staff is thrilled to be a part of it each year! We are so grateful to be a part of this fundraiser and for the support of 101.1 WJRR and Mel’s Bad Girls Club.
