| We love success stories! Even though she was working, Scarlett had been overwhelmed by expenses while she was going to school. Barely making it while supporting herself for her education, her hours were cut during Covid and she began to fall behind on several bills. Shortly before graduating she was facing eviction and homelessness. Scarlett reached out to HOPE for financial assistance so she could stay in her apartment until she was able to graduate and find a better job. Thanks to your support, a HOPE Case Manager was able to assist Scarlett with her rent and set her up with a volunteer financial counselor to review her expenses and provide her with tools for successful budgeting and savings. She has now graduated from school, found a better job with additional income, and is doing a great job handling her expenses. Scarlett is now financially secure, extremely happy, and very grateful for everything that HOPE was able to offer her in her time of need. Her new employer gives gift cards as an incentive to their staff every few months and Scarlett chooses to pay that generosity forward by using those gift cards to help someone in need purchase their groceries. Scarlett is doing wonderful since HOPE Helps’ assistance and is now in the process of becoming a HOPE volunteer so she can help others as HOPE helped her.
