HOPE’s Resource Center/ Food Pantry – Big Moves

HOPE’s Resource Center/ Food Pantry – Big Moves
Jose came to HOPE’s Resource Center and Food Pantry requesting food. He recently moved here from Venezuela for a better life for his teenage daughter and himself. Jose noted that his daughter graduated high school with honors and planned to attend Valencia College. He works full time as a security guard at night and they’re on a fixed income. Jose’s main goals were to find a two-bedroom apartment that he could afford since he was sharing a room with his daughter and to organize his daughter’s immigration status to be able to provide healthcare and education for her. A year after receiving services from HOPE his daughter received her work permit and her green card and was able to enroll in college. Jose sent an email thanking HOPE for all the services given to him and his daughter. He was able to find an affordable two-bedroom apartment and is doing well. He appreciated the time he had here and everyone that assisted him during his time of transition.
